Simple Sautéed Asparagus Recipe: This Lemon Garlic Asparagus Recipe Is Topped With Parmesan Cheese by Elisa A. Schmitz 30Seconds
Asparagus just feels like spring, so in honor of the change of seasons, I came up with this simple sautéed asparagus recipe. If the taste of asparagus isn't enough to get you excited about it, maybe the fact that asparagus is high in fiber and antioxidants, and may even help lower blood pressure, will.
If you're like me and find cooking asparagus a challenge (when I cook it, it often comes out too tough or too mushy), this easy lemon garlic asparagus recipe will be a game-changer. And it's topped with Parmesan cheese, just to make it even more delicious.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 8 to 10 minutes
Total Time: 13 to 15 minutes
- 1 bunch asparagus (about 1 pound), washed and cut into 1- to 2-inch pieces
- 2 - 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- juice of half a lemon (you can use a whole lemon if you prefer more lemon flavor)
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/3 cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese, or to taste
Here's how to make it:
In a large sauté pan, combine the olive oil, lemon juice and garlic. Add the asparagus and toss to coat. Sauté for 8 to 10 minutes, until asparagus is crisp tender.
Season with sea salt and pepper. Top with the shredded Parmesan.
