Here are the six simple ingredients you need for these low-sodium sweet yet tart snack treats: butter, flour, sugar, eggs, almond extract and cranberries. The sliced almonds and flaked coconut are optional, but highly recommended.

Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons almond extract
- 3 cups fresh cranberries (or frozen cranberries)
Optional Toppings
- 3/4 cup sliced almonds
- 1/2 cup flaked coconut

- With an electric mixer, combine the butter, sugar and flour in a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs and almond extract. (If you want these cookies to be gluten-free, use gluten-free flour.)
- Fold in the cranberries. (If you don't have fresh cranberries, you can use frozen cranberries.)
