These cookies may a bit better for you but, after one bite, you'll be craving them for the taste (and they're really easy to make, too)! Here's what you'll need to make these decadent chocolate cookies: chocolate chips, flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, olive oil, an egg, sugar and vanilla extract. The flaky sea salt is an optional garnish. You combine the ingredients in a mixing bowl then bake them up into delicious cookies that taste even better than they smell!

Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (plus extra for topping, if desired)
- 3/4 cup flour (all-purpose or gluten-free)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 teaspoons sugar (granulated sugar or coconut sugar)
Wet Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Topping
- 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt
Here's how to make it:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. (Dark chocolate may have the most health benefits, but you can use any type of chocolate chips you prefer. If you want these cookies to be gluten-free, use gluten-free flour.)
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. (You could add in some chopped walnuts, if desired.)
- Scoop generous tablespoons full of cookie dough and place them about 1 inch apart on greased or parchment paper-lined cookie sheets. Top each cookie with a few extra chocolate chips, if you like. (The number of cookies will depend on how much batter you use for each cookie.)
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 8 to 12 minutes (ovens vary). Allow cookies to cool before serving. Top with a sprinkle of flaky sea salt, if desired.
- Store leftover cookies in an airtight container.
