If you’re like me, you grill year-round – rain, sleet, heat or snow. This sweet, spicy chicken wings recipe doesn’t care if it’s July or February. The sweet and spicy apricot-glazed chicken wings recipe just invites you to sit back, relax and enjoy every savory grilled chicken bite.
To make these grilled chicken wings you will need chicken wings, apricot preserves, Worcestershire sauce, dark brown sugar (depth of flavor alert!), coconut aminos or soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic salt, black pepper, white pepper, garlic powder, ground cumin, cayenne pepper and ground ginger. If you can't fine white pepper, just use a little more black pepper, but white pepper (check out the health benefits of white pepper) does have a different taste and is worth investing in.
Don't own a grill? You could bake these chicken wings in the oven until cooked through, turning occasionally. Chicken is cooked through and safe to eat at 165 degrees F on a food thermometers. You could also use a grill pan, but be sure to oil it so they don't stick.

Ingredients
- 3 pounds chicken wings, wing tips removed and wings cut into two pieces
- 1 cup apricot preserves
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon coconut aminos or soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Here’s how to make it:
- In a large bowl, combine the apricot preserves, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce (or gluten-free soy sauce), mustard and all the spices. Divide mixture in half.
- Add the chicken wings to the large bowl with the sauce and toss to coat. Let the chicken wings stand for 5 minutes.
- Grill the chicken wings, covered, over moderately high heat, turning them occasionally, until they are charred in spots and cooked through, 22 to 25 minutes. Transfer the chicken wings to a platter. Serve with the reserved sauce on the side, and/or with your favorite chicken wings dipping sauces.
