Greek Turkey Burgers Recipe: Easy Turkey Burger Recipe With Tzatziki Sauce Is What's for Dinner by Jessica Acree

I am always trying to make healthier choices and anything Mediterranean gets my vote. I mixed up some wonderful Greek turkey burgers this week that deserve a spot on your lunch or dinner menu.
Cuisine: Mediterranean
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey (93/7)
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1/3 cup red pepper, chopped
- 1/3 cup diced onion
- 2 ounces reduced-fat feta crumbles
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Tzatziki Sauce:
- 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 mini cucumber, finely diced
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon dill
- splash of lemon juice
Here's how to make it:
- Grab a small bowl and combine the garlic, egg, olive oil and spices. Set aside.
- In your mixing bowl, combine the rest, then pour the egg mixture in and mix it all up. Form into four patties. Let it sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes so they firm up before cooking.
- Mix up the tzatziki sauce and refrigerate until you’re ready. Season with salt and pepper.
- Grill up your burgers. Assemble with a bun of choice, the sauce and optional lettuce and tomato.
Pro Tip: You can use pita or naan bread to keep your burger authentic or a slimwich bun to minimize carbs. Get crazy and slice your burger up and put it in a whole wheat wrap. That’s how my 3-year-old happily ate hers. You could also go bun free, they’re that good! Reminder: Cook turkey until it’s 165 degrees F. I used a digital meat thermometer to monitor this to be confident it was cooked properly.
