Parents, Take Your Kids to the Grocery Store: Anything Can Be an Adventure for Children!

Adventures don't have to always be big exciting things to still be adventures for children. Just doing things you need to get done can be adventures for kids, if done right. For example, trips to the grocery store to restock the kitchen. Instead of giving your children your cell phone or a tablet to play on, make them help you at the grocery store! An adventure is what you and your children make of it.

Kids can explore all the food in the freezer section and help find things on the list. My kids love helping at the grocery store finding whatever we need. We turn it into a game of “I Spy” to find the items on our list. Both my kids love exploring the freezer doors – opening and closing the doors, looking for food, laughing as they are complaining to me they are cold because they are in the freezer!

So, the next time you need to take your kids to the grocery store leave the cell phone or tablet at home and turn grocery shopping into a learning adventure!
