30Seconds tribe member Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead's kids had a lemonade stand to raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief. If your kids would like to do the same, here's a simple homemade lemonade recipe that's sure to raise lots of money for Harvey and Irma relief efforts – and quench your thirst in the process.
- 8 cups water
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (6-8 lemons)
- fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Here’s how to make it:
- Put 2 cups of the water into a bowl. Microwave until boiling, about 3 minutes. Add sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Cool.
- In a pitcher, combine the cooled sugar water, remaining water and lemon juice. Stir to combine. Add some of the juiced lemons into the mixture or cut some additional lemon slices to add, if desired.
