My grandma used to start baking for the holidays weeks beforehand. She made cookies, pies, cakes and candies that would sit on her kitchen table for us to snack on while we talked and made cherished family memories. My grandma made this incredible fudge every Christmas. Every year, it was part of her holiday cookie tray on that kitchen table.
This chocolate fudge recipe is quick, creamy and super fudgy. The perfect dessert recipe for the holidays. This old-fashioned fudge recipe is really easy β you make it in the microwave. All you need to make grandma's gluten-free fudge is butter, granulated sugar, evaporated milk, semisweet chocolate chips, marshmallow cream, chopped nuts (optional) and vanilla extract.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) butter
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- 7 ounces (1 jar) marshmallow creme
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Here's how to make it:
- Melt the butter in the microwave in a large bowl, about 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the sugar and milk. Mix well. Microwave on high another 5 minutes or until it begins to boil, stirring after 3 minutes.
- Mix well and scrape down the bowl. Microwave another 5 1/2 minutes, stirring after 3 minutes.
- Gradually stir in the chocolate chips until they melt. Add the remaining ingredients. Mix well. (The nuts are optional. My grandma would usually make two batches, one with nuts and one without.)
- Pour fudge into a 13x9-inch baking pan that's been lightly sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Cool at room temperature. Cut into squares. Store the fudge in an airtight container.
