- 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 - 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk (optional)

- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the corn and garlic. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste. (For a spice, add some crushed red pepper flakes or ground cayenne.) Cook, stirring often, for about 5 minutes, or until the corn is beginning to lightly brown.
- Add the heavy cream, if using. Stir. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese. Turn the heat off and let the cheese melt. Serve. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil, if desired.
