The Future of Sales: Here's Why Everybody Is a Sales Person! Career

The times they are a-changin’! This is especially applicable for non-sales people and sales people in the service industry, both of whom have not “sold” as part of their usual modus operandi of doing business in the past. Keep these things in mind:

  • Customer Relationships: You must develop more of an overall relationship with your customers beyond the sales transaction. Your customers need to know that you are there for them and care about their success.
  • Everybody Is a Salesperson: The link between sales and customer service is now becoming more and more blurred and increasingly stronger.
  • Technology Will Never Replace People: Customers will shop online and when they contact you, they probably already know the answers to the questions they will ask to test you. How will you respond?
  • Differentiate Yourself From Your Competition: The answer is you. Social media is a great way to share the human side of yourself.

Everybody is a salesperson, directly or indirectly, now and into the future. Sales is now more than just a numbers game – and everybody is selling.

You are so right, Jeff Jackson . Sales are tied to relationships and trust. And in some way, shape or form, everyone is a salesperson. Social media has blurred the line even more. So glad you pointed this out, because I'll bet many people don't think of themselves as being "in sales!"
