Grand Cayman Island: The Perfect Vacation Destination for Families Family Vacations International

While Grand Cayman Island is an uber-popular stop for cruise ships, it's also one of the best destinations for families! We keep finding ourselves back on this little piece of paradise for spring break. Why? First, there’s the famous Seven Mile Beach. This gorgeous stretch of white sand is surrounded by great restaurants, beautiful hotels and crystal clear water.

Stay: We like to stay at the Carribean Club, which is a boutique beachfront hotel with one- to four-bedroom suites that all have kitchens (super helpful with kids!). Other good choices are the Ritz Carlton and Kimpton Seafire Hotel

Do: One of the most popular attractions is Stingray City. Forget petting a single stingray in a touch tank – at this shallow snorkeling area you’ll be able to pet a few dozen while wading amongst them. Charter a fishing boat through Cayman Luxury Charters for a morning of deep sea fishing out to Stingray City and Starfish Island. You can also rent WaveRunners, try your hand at a Jetpack or enjoy time in a kayak or on a paddle board. Grand Cayman is also one of the best destinations for scuba diving and snorkeling and there is truly no better outfit to scuba with than Off The Wall Divers

Eat: There are so many great options for dining. Hands down my favorite is Calypso Grill. It has that island vibe that I love so much when I’m on vacation. If you go, you must make a reservation and request a table outside on the water. Other great choices are Catch, The Brasserie, LucaAquaBlue and The Wharf (where kids can feed the tarpon).

Shop: Skip the large cruise ship port of Georgetown and instead spend some time exploring the newly developed Caymana Bay area. They have cute shops, casual restaurants and the best gelato you'll ever have!
