- Start early! Introduce them to animals early on. If you don't have pets, visit friends or family with a gentle pet.
- Teach kids to be gentle. Use words like "nice" and "soft" as you show your baby how to pet an animal.
- Always be safe! As they get older, tell them never to approach an animal without their grownup and always ask for permission.
