Become the Fire: Transform Life's Chaos Into Business and Person Success by Elisa Schmitz is a fantastic read for anyone that needs inspiration for starting a successful business or endeavor. I took notes as I read the book, answering the questions she asks within each chapter and highlighting some of the key aspects I want to develop in my own endeavors.
The book reads as if you're having coffee with a friend who's taking the time to walk you through the steps she took to launch her businesses. And in my case, I do consider Elisa a friend!
I first met Elisa in 2014 when I was helping my husband launch a family app, and I found 30SecondMom (now 30Seconds) online. I loved the idea of moms helping moms by providing tips for just about anything, and I wrote to Elisa to find out how I could become a contributor to the site.
Fast forward nine years later, and I absolutely love the opportunities through 30Seconds – especially to meet up with Elisa for lunch or coffee whenever she visits Seattle!
Become the Fire will always be a resource I'll reach for when I need that extra motivation or to look back to see if maybe I've missed one of her great pieces of advice. Above all, I loved the simplicity of looking for opportunities all around and envisioning how to fill a need and make life better for others!
Just that simple exercise alone in Elisa's book helped me to identify my next career in life – to become a fitness trainer for peri-menopausal and menopausal women. Moreover, I feel as though I have a good friend in Elisa whenever I need a little extra motivation or advice as I navigate through the unknown!
