I absolutely love your writing, Mark Stackpole . So glad to get to read it again! I have been known to be too loud back in the day. My grandson is supposed to play baseball or soccer soon. Time will only tell how I handle that! :-)

THIS!!! I couldn't love it any more, Mark Stackpole . I have been on around the yelling parents on the sidelines for years, and at times have been that parent myself. I love your silent communication with your son. Brilliant. And this had me LOL: "I became skilled at yelling with my mouth closed, or as I liked to call it, 'the angry hum.'” Hilarious. Thank you for sharing! Grateful you are back in our community of writers.

Mark Montano ... I was THAT dad too! And I used to video all the games! All our behavior comes from a deep desire for our kids to be happy and healthy but we forget to listen and let them be. Thanks for your sharing your growth. Hoping that other soccer dads and moms will read and apply it when they are on the sidelines.
