Choosing a School for Your Child? Here’s What to Ask! by Kelly Wonderlin

My husband and I chose an elementary school for our son last week. I learned that it’s important when touring schools to ask a variety of child-specific questions, such as: 

• Can my child get extra help? 
• How is the school nurse?
• What is your safety policy? 
• Do you run fire drills? 

My son needs a teacher with patience who will give a little extra help, so we wanted to make sure that was a priority. After much consideration, we went with a smaller school because that's what is best for him. The school is further from our house, but the important thing is that my son will get the best care there.
