Many young kids find the school lunchroom environment overwhelming. Chairs are uncomfortable, tables too high, noise too loud and lunch break too short. They also have to open numerous containers in order to start eating. To make their job easier, switch to Bento-type lunch boxes, which allow kids to see all the food you packed without struggling with multiple containers, lids and baggies.
Bento boxes are also a great way to reduce waste. Don't forget to pack a protein, starch, fruit, vegetable and maybe dairy food for a balanced lunch. Your child will appreciate the variety and fun presentation!
