St. Patrick's Day Crafts for Kids: How to Make a DIY Family Shamrock Keepsake Holidays Activities

It’s almost time to wear a “wee bit o’green!” Whether you're Irish or not, it’s the perfect time to celebrate your blessings. It's also the perfect time to make a fun keepsake craft with your kids.

Here's how to create a homemade shamrock out of green cardstock paper. It's so easy and something you will cherish forever. The supplies for this shamrock craft are easy to find: green cardstock, glue, white craft paint and ribbon. Simply cut out three green hearts out of the cardstock. Glue the shamrock shapes together to form a four-leaf clover. Dip your child's hands into white craft paint and let them stamp their handprints on the shamrock. Add some ribbon and you've got an adorable decoration and keepsake!

You'll need:

  • green cardstock
  • non-toxic white craft paint
  • ribbon
  • glue

Here's how to do it:

  1. Cut out three green hearts. Glue them together to create a clover or place four green hearts for a four-leaf clover.
  2. Personalize it using handprints from your children, family members or even animals.
  3. Use non-toxic white paint and paint one hand from each child, then “stamp” their hand down on the green paper.
  4. Add some festive ribbon.
