Costume Swap: Halloween Costume Ideas to Go From Orange to Green This Halloween! Holidays

Buying a new Halloween costume can be expensive year after year and isn’t very environmentally friendly. Did you know that October 14 was National Costume Swap Day? Check for local swaps online or organize one among friends and neighbors. Most costumes are in good shape (having only been worn once or twice) and can easily be worn again! You also can find inexpensive costumes at:

  • consignment shops
  • yard sales
  • thrift stores

You may also find a costume at home by using what you already have and adding a little creativity. Whatever you and your family end up wearing, have fun and be safe!

Thanks Elisa! I also saw a mom post specific requests (red wig, sparkly wings) to our local list serve which is another great way to find free or cheap things to round out what you might already have.
