Summer Vegetable Garden: A Great Way to Get Kids to Eat More Veggies! Activities Gardening

Want kids to eat more vegetables? Plant a garden! Last summer, we planted our first garden. It wasn't as much work as I imagined, and the experience with the kids was priceless.

  • We kept it small.
  • They decided what to plant.
  • We worked on it together.

Before long, we had squash, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs and lettuce. As we picked and prepared them, the kids were eager to try eating them because they were "their vegetables." The kids had fun, and it was great having them eager to eat healthy snacks. Don't have garden space? You can use containers instead. Fun and healthy for all!
