Spring Break & Easter Fun for Families: 5 Ideas for Springtime Family Fun Activities

With the hint of springtime blossoming, it’s normal to start thinking about some springtime family fun. Although you may have to take a raincheck on some favorite social activities or traveling for spring break, with a little creativity and innovation there are countless possibilities to put a smile on your child’s face.

  • Take the family on a nature walk/hike. Let the kids do a photoshoot of their favorite discoveries and fun family moments along the way. Take it a step further and create a digital photo album when you get home to keep as a memory or to share with family and friends.
  • Get creative! Have the kids decorate clay pots or planters with paint or stickers or anything else that excites them and then plant their favorite colorful flowers in them to display on the windowsill, in the garden or patio. Better yet, give them as gifts to grandparents and other family members and friends/neighbors sheltering at home to teach character-building traits like kindness and compassion.

Easter Egg Hunts With a Twist

  • Make It a Raffle: In addition to hiding candy or a prize in the eggs, slip a raffle ticket into each egg. After all the eggs have been found, hold a raffle for bigger prizes for the kids.
  • Eggs-ercise Hunt: Let the kids work off some energy while making exercise fun by giving them a fun task in some of their eggs like hopping like a bunny or doing 10 jumping bunnies (instead of jumping jacks).
  • Coupon Egg Hunt: Opt for filling the eggs with coupons instead of candy, which offer kids special time with mom and dad, or an extra 15 minutes before bedtime, or more screen time, or even an extra piece of Easter candy.
