Family Webinars: An Easy Way to Stay Connected While Quarantined or Social Distancing During the COVID-19 Pandemic Relationships Activities

The coronavirus pandemic has turned life upside down very quickly. My family lives in three different countries and in a couple of different states here in the U.S. We were all feeling a little isolated because of social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19, so I borrowed an idea from the business world and started a weekly family webinar on Saturdays.

Our first time, we chatted for about an hour. I think it helped everyone start their weekend with some family connection time while we are all isolated in our homes. We thought about trying to play a game, but the only game we could think of was Yahtzee. (Some felt that may have taken too long.) If you have any game ideas, let me know.

If you are looking for a way to connect, give it a try. I used Ring Central, but you could also use Zoom meetings or Facebook Messenger or other meeting apps. It is not the same as being in the same room, but it does give everyone a chance to talk, find out what is going on in the world around us and make sure we're all OK.
