Child Photography: Why It's OK If Your Kid Has a Meltdown During Your Family Photoshoot Parenting Tip of the Day

As a photographer I see parents get stressed out all the time because their children are not cooperating for pictures. And I just want to say that it’s OK.

  • It’s OK if your 2-year-old flakes out.
  • It’s OK if your baby doesn’t smile for every picture.
  • It’s OK if they want to run off and break from the scene to chase after squirrels. (I’ll run with them.)

Twenty years down the line when you’re looking at these photos none of that will matter. All you will see is your child in their moment in time not phased by this world.

Trust me, every photo of your child is the perfect one.

Yes! I used to be one of those moms who stressed out over pictures. And you are right, my kids are grown now and the not-so-perfect photos are my favorites. Can't wait to read more tips from you!

I’m sorry (not sorry) but when friends share the grumpy kid and crying baby pics- they are always my favorites! 😂

The melting down pictures are always the best! My favorite Santa pic is still the one where one kid screaming and the other is having a pee accident on his lap
