New Year's Resolutions As a Single Mom: 5 Ways I'll Prioritize Myself This Year Single Moms Holidays

New Year's resolutions always seem to jam me up. In fact, like the rest of the population, I most often make one and then quit it. My one exception was the year 2014 when I made 52 different cookie recipes, one a week, and was pretty proud of myself for that. (I think the butter/sugar/flour industry has taken quite a hit since then ... oops!)

Sure, I could say I want to lose 10 pounds, be on my phone less, watch money spent more carefully. However, I'm already running nearly every day and working on a one-income household. That is why I am choosing to make this year the year I prioritize myself. So I am going to:

  • Trust my gut.
  • Do what I think is best, not what my family strongly suggests.
  • Stop giving second chances to people who aren't worth my time.
  • Spend time with friends who don't judge me and love me for who I am.
  • No longer feel terrible saying "no" when I don't want to do something.

Will this be the year I stick to it? Here's to 2019. Let's make it a good one.
