Banned Books: The Top 10 "Offenders" & Why We Need These Books Books Opinion

Many books are banned in libraries and schools every year. Below are the top 10 challenged books in 2017, according to the American Library AssociationI have read three of these book. I feel I learned something from all of them.

We need banned books to teach us something about subjects we are not necessarily comfortable with. It should be up to parents what their kids read and adults should be allowed to read whatever they wish. Reading about people and experiences we are not familiar with in real life goes a long way toward educating ourselves about what it is like to walk in someone else's shoes, as uncomfortable as that may be.

Censorship goes against our constitutional rights, and last I checked this was still a free country!
