Bring Your Elf on the Shelf & the Spirit of the Holiday Season Home With a Snowflake Breakfast! Holidays

I know what you're thinking ... the Elf. Some families love the arrival of this festive friend, others despise it. No matter what eyes you see it through, think about the intent of this jovial guest. Yes, it's one more thing to do, but it's oh so worth it from your child's eyes. A Snowflake Breakfast might be just what you need to get into the spirit!

This year try a "Snowflake Breakfast" for the return of your Elf. This is what we do every year: Our elf comes on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It's also the day that we decorate our home and trim the Christmas tree. Here's what you'll need!

  • festive plates
  • napkins
  • other decorations
  • "snow" covered donuts/donut holes
  • peppermint goodies
  • gingerbread cookies
  • mini stockings
  • candy canes
  • a small trinket or new ornament for your kids
  • your elf and his book

Our kids come down for breakfast with the biggest eyes and are full of excitement for the day. It is a tradition that represents joy and love in our home. My kids are getting big, so this may be the last year of magic for all of them. I am going to savor every second, especially reading the book after breakfast. I encourage you to give it a try, too!
