Looking for alternatives to using disposable menstrual products? There are several!

  • Menstrual Cups: Menstrual cups are inserted internally. Cups come in a variety of shapes and sizes depending on your needs and can be used up to 12 hours depending on your flow.
  • Cloth Pads: Cloth pads are similar to disposable pads, in that they attach to your underwear and are changed as needed. Cloth pads come in variety of fabrics, prints, shapes, lengths and absorbencies.
  • Period Underwear: There are several brands and styles of underwear that have built in liners and/or leak proof layers that provide protection.
  • Sea Sponges: Sponges are a natural, renewable resource that can be used in place of a tampon. Sponges are comfortable, non-irritating, environmentally friendly and money saving.

Great information, Renee Herren .It's easy to get stuck in a rut and think there's only pads or tampons. Great tip!!
