Got a Hyper Kid Who Can't Focus? You May Want to Jump on the Clean Eating Bandwagon! Parenting

As a teacher, learning specialist and the parent of a very active (unfocused) kindergarten boy, I am now on the bandwagon for clean eating. If your child is having trouble staying focused at home or school, try cutting out:

  • gluten
  • dairy
  • processed sugar

Cut these foods out for three weeks. Think whole fruit, veggies and lean protein, like the Paleo diet. You may very well see a dramatic improvement in your child's impulse control and focus within two weeks.

Yes! We are ALL eating better and I have noticed a HUGE difference in my energy level, mood and my skin!

Heather, I did this exact thing for my children when they were young. We went to a naturopath doctor and had their allergies/intolerances tested. We removed these items from their diets and it made a dramatic change. My son who they had placed on ADHD med's was able to come off the medication. He is now in college and still follows the diet without medication. These allergens can wreak havoc to their little developing brains. Thanks for this tip.

I have had similar experiences with my children. When we eat cleaner, not only does their focus improve, but their general behaviors are better, they sleep better, and it's a healthier lifestyle for all of us!! Thanks Heather Bragg!
