How many times have you said something and thought, "Why did I say that?" One tried-and-true, easy way to curb that is to catch yourself in the moment. It might be in the midst of a conflict, or a difference of opinion, or maybe just a "how was your day?" conversation. Before you blurt something out without thinking, comedian and television personality, Craig Ferguson, suggests asking yourself these three simple questions:

  2. Does this need to be said by me?
  3. Does this need to be said by me now?

If you answer NO to any one of them, learn to take a pause. I cannot even tell you how many times this approach has saved me from saying something I know I would later regret. Read more about this here!
