Try a Little Social Media Magic to Keep Up With Your Kids While Out & About or On Vacation - Here’s the Trick! Tech Parenting

Headed to a theme park or on vacation with your kids soon? Whether you need to gather the troops for lunch or check in to make sure they're OK, here's an easy way to do it!

Before you leave home, type your kid's social media handles in the contacts on your phone. That way, if they get "lost" and don't respond to a call or text right away, you can ping them with a direct message on Facebook or Twitter. Just make sure you're all following each other so you can direct message them.

Chances are they'll be looking at their phone anyway, so you might as well use it to your advantage!

I love this! You're so right - kids may ignore a call or text, but rarely do they ignore a SnapChat or tweet! Great way to use their attachments to social media as an advantage!

You're right Elisa! And what would be funnier still is for a Mom or Dad to do a SnapChat of their own face or the dinner table to get the kids to come running.

I've found that Snapchat is great way to touch base with my kids each day. Even if it's just a silly pic. Let's them know you're thinking of them.
