Where's the Best Place to Be With Your Kids? (It's Not What You Think!) Parenting

I was in the mall with my son, and it hit me that we’d walked right past Build-a-Bear Workshop and The Lego Store straight into Newbury Comics. "What does this mean," I pondered? Should I cry, because he’s growing up so fast? Maybe. Better yet, I decided to stop and appreciate the moment, and then the next one and then the next.

Suddenly, everything was clear. My love for my son, as he was in that moment, filled my entire being right there in the mall. “That’s the way I want to live my life,” I thought. “In the present moment where my true power is always accessible to me.”

Know what I mean?

This is so true Gail Harris especially as they get older. Truly some of my most special times with my now 15 year old son are watching his favorite tv shows (like Hawaii 5 0 and Blackish) while we eat peanut m&m's on the couch!!

That sounds fun and yummy. Why did we become mothers, anyway? Gotta be there with our kids, in the moment, good times and difficult times. I appreciate your response!

I work really hard at staying in the present moment, especially with my kids. You're so right, Gail Harris - it's a powerful place to be! xoxo
