I write emails to my kids – to be read much later, when they are adults – as a handy tool for journaling about our lives. Here’s an example:
"Dear [insert kids' names],
School ended, summer has begun and you all are growing so fast! D2 is riding horses, D1, you're playing soccer at a camp you love called..."
I write about the things they do that amaze me, funny things they say and a little bit about what it's like to watch their journey. I email the notes to myself – they all have the same subject line, so I can easily find them. I do it when I can, usually every few weeks. It's quick and easy!
