It's Time for a Kids' Discipline Shift: Don't Be the Cop; Be the Teacher! Here's Why! by Dr. Christina Hibbert

As a parent, it's easy to get caught up in always being the disciplinarian. We become the 'bad cop,' continually telling our kids, "No," "Don't" or "Stop!" While it's important to police our kids at times, it's even more important to see ourselves as our child's teacher.

When we view ourselves as a teacher, we find ourselves saying, "Yes," "Do this" and being positive more. We also work on ourselves so we can model the behaviors we desire them to implement. Being a teacher gets us out of the "bad cop" role and into a place of inspiration, learning and growth.

Don't be the cop; be the teacher!
