Kids Learn About Their Heritage Through Play With Dolls From A Girl for All Time at the Chicago Toy and Game Fair (ChiTAG)! by Elisa Schmitz
Dolls were my favorite toy as a child, so I was really excited to talk with Frances Cain from A Girl for All Time at the Chicago Toy and Game Fair (ChiTAG)!
The dolls from A Girl for All Time are "about teaching children all about their own their own heritage and their own background," says Frances. "There's a lot of research out there about the fact that children who know about their own family heritage and know about their own family history are mentally and emotionally more healthy than kids who don't know about it. So it's all about teaching kids to explore their backgrounds and find out who they are and find out what they're all about through play." Who wouldn't love that?
At A Girl for All Time, "we believe there is so much to celebrate about being a girl and we're passionate about creating gorgeous dolls and books as intelligent and creative as the girls who inspire us."
The company's goal is simple: to design and produce gorgeously crafted dolls and books that celebrate being a girl in an intelligent way and inspire a lifetime of play and creativity.
A Girl for All Time's first doll line, Your Historical Girl™, is a series of dolls and novels that follow the lives of girls in the fictional Marchmont family through 500 years of intrigue and adventure, from the grisly 1500s to the swinging 1960s. The newest line, Your Modern Girl™, is a collection of dolls with unique personalities who are all best friends and live in contemporary London.
