Pit Bulls: Don't Bully My Breed! Let's Remove Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) Laws by Morgan Hawthorne

Anyone who owns a pet is aware that they are our children – and my dog is no exception. Unfortunately for my incredibly sweet boy, he was born a pit bull.
When we rescued him from the SPCA he had been found in the basement of a house that was involved in a dog fighting ring. There are laws called BSL laws (Breed Specific Legislation) that ban your ability to own a dog identified as a pit bull, chow, Rottweiler, Doberman or any dog deemed "dangerous" by the government. In multiple states and cities where BSL is enforced it is illegal to own these dogs and shelters are forced to kill these beautiful animals.
My son and I volunteer at the local SPCA and have met so many sweet pit bulls and other "bully breeds." We are fortunate enough to live in one of the 12 states that have banned the enforcement of BSL so these majestic animals are given the opportunity to find a forever home.
Our Apollo is the best family dog and is the most gentle giant in the world. We need to stand up for our fur babies and end BSL once and for all. If you know someone with one of these awesome animals, let them give you one of their huge sloppy slobbery kisses and let them know you are on their side!
