How to Avoid Fast Food, Get Healthy & Save Money in 5 Easy Steps!

Lots of days we have that urge to grab the next unhealthy meal staring us in the face. You know, the one where you just drive through, order, pay and pick up. Sounds easy enough, right? Here's how to avoid that!

  1. Meal plan.
  2. Grocery shop for everything needed for the meals for the week.
  3. Place the meal plan in a place where you can see it.
  4. Be proactive. Don't wait until a half-hour before dinner to look at the meal plan. By then it’s too late to defrost the meat you need and so you don't even bother. Afford yourself ample time to defrost, prepare and cook the meal.
  5. For those unpredictable days when things happen – kids get sick, mom is fatigued, etc. – ensure that your pantry and freezer is stocked with easy go-to food ideas (tacos, pasta, quesadillas, stir fry, etc.).
