You Need to Put Your Oxygen Mask on First, Mom! Here's Why! by Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead
If you've traveled by plane, you've heard a flight attendant say, "If you're traveling with a child or someone who requires assistance, put your oxygen mask on first, then assist the other person." The same principle applies to taking care of yourself. Only when you take care of YOU are you truly able to care for others. Self-care is NOT selfish; it's necessary.
- eat well
- get enough sleep
- spend time with friends
- do what brings you joy
If you have to literally schedule time for yourself, do it. Always remember to put your oxygen mask on first!
