Babies up to a few months old can develop a severe infection from exposure to Group B Strep (GBS). Symptoms of Group B Strep in newborns include: 

  • inconsolable crying
  • grunting as if constipated
  • projectile vomiting
  • poor feeding
  • decreased wet diapers
  • fever
  • difficulty breathing
  • uncontrollable jerking
  • bulging spot on top of the head
  • lethargy or difficulty waking your baby from sleep
