Campfire Safety: 3 Things You Need to Do If a Burn Injury Occurs!

Campfires are fun, but also can be dangerous. If you're at a campfire and a burn injury occurs, the affected person needs to stop, drop and roll and someone else needs to dial 911 immediately. Until help arrives, do the following: 

  • Stop the fire
  • Stop the injury from getting worse by removing the inciting source and any clothing that might be on fire
  • Put a dry dressing on the wound to stop heat loss

This also will help with pain control. Don't take chances – sacrifice the marshmallow, save the skin!
