Bundling Kids Up Safely for Winter Fun: What They Should & Shouldn't Wear!

Winter won't – and shouldn't – stop kids from playing outside. Just keep these tips in mind!

  • If your child is heading outside to play in the cold, remember to dress him or her in layers. This allows the child to remove a layer if it gets wet and to keep moisture ways from the skin.
  • When choosing what to wear, avoid cotton, which will not insulate when it becomes wet. Better choices are clothes made of fleece and wool.
  • Make sure you change your kids out of wet clothing as soon as possible.

Enjoy winter safely!
