Pre-Workout Energy Booster: This One is Inexpensive, Sweet & Probably in Your Pantry!

If you feel a bit sluggish and want to skip out on your workout, try a spoonful of honey for an instant energy boost. The glucose in honey absorbs in the body quickly, giving that much-needed jump start, and the fructose, which has a slower absorption rate, may provide sustained energy throughout your workout.

Honey also contains anti-inflammatory properties, which can lessen post-workout muscle aches. If taking a straight spoonful of honey doesn’t sound appealing, mix it with warm water and a splash of lemon juice. I typically do late evening workouts, and this always does trick for me!

I will def try this- have been working out after the kids go to bed and by then sluggish is an understatement.
