Batter up! It's baseball season. Baseball is one of the safest sports for kids. Still, there is no such thing as a completely risk-free sport. One of the most common, but often unrecognized, injuries in baseball are to the eyes.
- Children are especially vulnerable since they haven’t developed the same level of depth perception as adults.
- Be especially careful if your child wears glasses. Make sure they're wearing protective lenses, and you may want to consider a face shield for the batting helmet.
