Is Seasonal Affective Disorder Real? A Study Casts Doubt!

Blaming your moods on seasonal depression? A study found no evidence of the existence of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), a mood disorder that’s been linked to reduced sunlight that occurs during the winter months. 

Researchers found that the rates of mood disorder do not vary by the time of the year or amount of sunlight exposure, and that the idea of seasonal depression may be “strongly rooted in folk psychology, but it is not supported by objective data.” The study was published by the Association for Psychological Science.
