Mumps are in the news again. What symptoms should parents look for? The first symptoms of mumps include:

Early on, a person with mumps can have just a genuine feeling of being “unwell.” As the virus progresses, the salivary and parotid glands may swell, but this only happens in 31 to 65 percent of the cases. Some people have no symptoms and others have respiratory symptoms.
