Sparklers, Fireworks & Kids Do Not Mix; Here's What to Give Them Instead!

Keep your children away from fireworks but think sparklers are OK? SafeKids.org says those little arms are too short to hold sparklers, which can heat up to 1,200 degrees. Instead, they suggest giving children glow sticks instead.

Whatever you decide, be sure to always supervise kids around fireworks at all times, and if someone is injured by a firework, immediately go to a doctor or hospital. For eye injuries, do not let your child touch or rub it – it can cause even more damage.
