Brown Sugar & Spice Air Fryer Chicken Thighs Recipe (5 Ingredients, 20 Minutes) Air Fryer Recipes High Protein Recipes Chicken Recipes Dinner Budget Recipes Gluten-free Spices Low Sodium Recipes
I cannot stop cooking chicken thighs in the air fryer! Bone-in chicken thighs, boneless chicken thighs, it does not matter to me. The air fryer makes cooking chicken thighs so easy, and they come out of that magic basket slightly charred (aka flavor) and juicy as all get out. My latest air fryer chicken recipe was this brown sugar and spice chicken thighs recipe. This was a quick and easy high-protein dinner!
You only need five ingredients and your salt and pepper shakers to make this air fryer recipe. Here is your short shopping list for this chicken dinner: boneless/skinless chicken thighs, olive oil, brown sugar, smoked paprika and garlic powder. The chicken is massaged with all the gluten-free ingredients and then put into the air fryer for about 14 minutes, depending on your air fryer.
Not only is this chicken full of flavor, but it is also full of healthy protein. Check out the health benefits of protein. Serve the juicy chicken thighs for dinner with your favorite side dishes. I served mine with mashed sweet potatoes and fresh broccoli. Don't forget to drizzle some of the sweet and spicy drippings in the bottom of the air fryer basket over the chicken.
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 6 minutes
Cook Time: 14 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 4 boneless/skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Here's how to make it:
- Put the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder and olive oil into a bowl. Season to taste with black pepper. (You can add your desired amount of salt here, but I prefer to directly season the chicken with salt instead. Do what you like!)
- Stir to combine.
- Season the chicken with salt. Add the chicken and turn to coat it thoroughly in the spice mixture. (There's enough seasoning for four boneless chicken thighs. I only cooked three.)
- Put the chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket. (I like to use an air fryer liner.)
- Air fry at 425 degrees F for 12 to 14 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through. Chicken is cooked through at 165 degrees F internal temperature on a food thermometer. (My chicken was done at 14 minutes.)
- Serve. (You can drizzle the drippings over the chicken for even more flavor.) Store any leftover chicken in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave.
