Old Bay Salmon Patties Recipe Is a High-Protein Dinner Winner (15 Minutes, 7 Ingredients) High Protein Recipes Seafood Dinner Appetizers Low Sugar Recipes Gluten-free Budget Recipes Spices
The heart-healthy Mediterranean Diet has inspired me to add more salmon to me weekly dinner rotation. Besides getting the proven health benefits of the Mediterranean Diet plan and the health benefits of salmon, the fish is one of my favorites, so it's a win-win situation. Salmon patties are a quick and easy way to get my salmon fix without having to run to the store for fresh fish. I now keep a couple cans of salmon in the pantry for quick, high-protein dinners.
These Old Bay salmon patties are my latest find. This moist and crispy salmon patties recipe takes minutes to prep and is on the table in about 15 minutes. The salmon cakes are moist and full of that Old Bay flavor we love on the inside, and crispy on the outside. Delicious!
To make these salmon patties for lunch or dinner you will need a can of salmon, Old Bay seasoning, eggs, mayonnaise, panko breadcrumbs, a bell pepper (any color), fresh chives and olive oil for pan frying.
Pro Tip: I like to put my canned salmon into a mesh strainer over the sink and use my fingers to flake it as it drains. I also crush up the calcium-rich bones for extra nutrition.
Any fresh vegetable or salad will work as a side dish for this high-protein seafood dinner. I served mine with a fresh corn salad and Old Bay mayonnaise for a light and super flavorful dinner. Make smaller patties to serve as appetizers with a dipping sauce like Old Bay mayonnaise, ranch, remoulade, tarter sauce or cocktail sauce.
Fun Fact: Old Bay seasoning was invented in 1940 by a German Jewish refugee in Baltimore names Gustav Brunn. Brunn was a spicemaker in Germany before he came to the U.S., making spice blends for sausage.

- 2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (heaping)

- Flip the patties over and continue to cook until golden on both sides, about 5 to 7 minutes in total for both sides.
