Sweet & Savory Brown Sugar Baked Pork Chops Recipe (5 Ingredients) Pork Dinner Gluten-free High Protein Recipes
Pork chops are always one of my go-to dinners during the week and on the weekend. Pork chops can be cooked in so many different ways and with so many different cooking techniques. This baked brown sugar pork chop recipe is my latest discovery and addition to my recipe binder. The tender, sweet and savory pork bakes up in the oven while you prepare the side dishes.
To make this sweet pork recipe, you only need five simple ingredients from the pantry and fridge. Here is what you need to grab: pork chops, brown sugar, butter, low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari) and Worcestershire sauce. (Check out the health benefits of pork.) This recipe would also be delicious using pork country ribs instead of pork chops. To make this recipe gluten-free, use gluten-free soy sauce or tamari.
The butter and brown sugar is placed on top of each individual pork chop, then the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce is sprinkled over the top. Cover and bake for about 40 minutes, then uncover and bake for about 15 minutes more (ovens vary).
Because there's only two of us, I cut the recipe in half and used two pork chops. The juicy pork chops pair well with so many side dishes. I served mine for dinner with fresh corn on the cob and a garden salad topped with creamy southern tomato vinaigrette.
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 55 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Here's how to make it:
- Put the pork chops into a baking dish. Season with black pepper and salt, if desired, to taste. Top each pork chop with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. (If you're worried about the pork chops sticking, rub a little olive oil in the baking dish before putting the pork chops in.)
- Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the top of each pork chop.
- Drizzle the pork chops with the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cover the baking dish with a lid or aluminum foil. (I used my Le Creuset round baking dish with a lid, but any baking dish will work. If you need to cover with aluminum foil, be sure to cover it tightly.)
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 40 minutes. Uncover and continue baking, basting with some of the cooking liquids, about 15 minutes more. Serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
