This Mediterranean tuna salad recipe not only has healthy tuna, but is loaded with Mediterranean and Blue Zone herbs.

To make this tuna salad you will need to first make the creamy herb salad dressing. The salad dressing recipe makes more than you'll need for this recipe, so use it in other ways like drizzling it over salads, pasta salads or grilled chicken, fish or shrimp. For the creamy herb salad dressing you will need fresh garlic, shallots, fresh herbs, lemons for juicing, olive oil, Greek yogurt or mayonnaise and crushed red pepper flakes. To make this tuna salad recipe you will also need two cans of tuna packed in water.

This is not an overly creamy tuna salad. It's lighter, and to me, juicy, which I loved. The tuna salad is full of fresh herbs and has a bright, refreshing lemon flavor. Serve this tuna salad in bread for tuna salad sandwiches, on lettuce or in a wrap for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

• 10 ounces (2 cans) tuna in water, drained
• 1/3 cup fresh herb salad dressing (here's the recipe)

Recipe Notes

• I like to put the tuna into a mesh strainer to drain.

• You can add more chopped fresh herbs to the salad or whatever additional ingredients you like in tuna salad. Think red onion, green onions, chopped olives, chopped sweet peppers, etc.

• Store the tuna salad in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.

Here's how to make it:

1. Prepare the creamy herb salad dressing.
2. Put the drained tuna into a bowl.
3. Add the fresh herb salad dressing.
4. Season with salt and pepper, if desired. Add any additional ingredients. Stir to combine.
5. Serve over lettuce, in a wrap or as a sandwich filing.
