This is my family's favorite buttermilk dip and salad dressing recipe. We put this creamy buttermilk dressing on everything! I'm sure it will be a huge hit in your family, too. This is the perfect homemade ranch recipe for those chicken wings and other appetizers and snacks you'll be eating during the big game!
To make this easy buttermilk salad dressing and dip recipe you will need to hit the fridge and pantry. Here is what you need to gather to make this homemade salad dressing: buttermilk, mayonnaise, plain Greek yogurt (check out the health benefits of Greek yogurt), green onions or fresh chives, fresh dill, fresh parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce and cayenne, for a touch of spice.
Drizzle this salad dressing over lettuce salads, grain salads and pasta salads or use it as a dip for chicken nuggets, fried appetizers, fresh cut-up vegetables, french fries, onion rings or whatever you like to dip. It's also a great spread for sandwiches.

Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh buttermilk
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
- 5 green onions or chives, minced fine
- 1 - 2 teaspoons fresh dill, minced fine
- 20 springs and leaves fresh parsley, minced fine
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
Here's how to make it:
- In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, mayonnaise and Greek yogurt. Whisk to combine.
- Add spices. Blend, taste and adjust seasoning with salt. (Add or subtract more buttermilk for consistency change.)
- Add the finely chopped dill, green onions and parsley. Gently fold them into the mix.
- Cover and chill for the best flavor or serve immediately. Adjust seasoning the next day if making ahead of time. (These flavors will amplify overnight, especially the fresh dill.) Store in an airtight container, mason jar or salad dressing cruet for up to seven days in the fridge. You could easily cut this recipe in half.
