Easy Skillet Ginger Chicken Recipe With Ramen Is a Slurpable Supper (20 Minutes) High Protein Recipes Asian Recipes Japanese Recipes Budget Recipes Chicken Recipes Dinner Meal Prep Recipes
Besides slurping on a bowl of ramen noodles the traditional way, you can use them in quick and easy recipes. So far I've made ground beef and ramen, beef and broccoli ramen and creamy ramen with sausage. My latest discovery is this budget-friendly skillet chicken ramen with a sweet ginger sauce. The simple Asian sauce coats the chicken and noodles, creating a delicious meal that's on the table in about 20 minutes.
To make this high-protein ramen ginger chicken recipe you will need two packages of ramen noodles (any flavor because you will toss the seasoning packets), boneless/skinless chicken breast (read about the health benefits of protein), green onions, white onion, garlic, low-sodium soy sauce, ketchup, honey, brown sugar and fresh ginger (check out the health benefits of ginger). The Japanese-inspired recipe cooks up on the stovetop in about 10 minutes.
Variations: You can add other vegetables to this recipe when you add the green onions, onions and garlic. Try sugar snap peas, snow peas, mushrooms, broccoli, spinach or asparagus.
Serve these saucy Asian chicken noodles for a quick dinner on busy nights. If you have time, make some crunchy eggrolls or crab rangoons to serve with with this flavorful, quick and easy dinner. This ramen and chicken recipe is so good, you may find yourself slurping it up!
Cuisine: Japanese / American / Asian
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 6 ounces (2 packages) ramen noodles
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless/skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 - 3 green onions, sliced, plus more for garnish
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced onion
- 3 - 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 4 teaspoons fresh grated ginger
Here's how to make it:
- Cook the ramen noodles (discard the seasoning packets) according to package directions. Drain.
- Add about 1 teaspoon of cooking oil to a large skillet or wok. Add the chicken and cook over high heat until it begins to brown, but is not cooked through yet. Season with black pepper. (You could use boneless chicken thighs instead of breasts.)
- Add the sliced onion, green onions and garlic to the chicken. Cook, stirring, about 2 minutes.
- In a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, ketchup, water, honey, brown sugar and ginger. Pour the mixture into the skillet. (For a little heat, add some sriracha sauce.)
- Simmer, stirring occasionally, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add the cooked ramen noodles. Toss to combine. Season with more black pepper, if desired.
- Sprinkle with more chopped green onion and serve.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
